I was born at Wayne County General Hospital. Where do I get my birth certificate?
The records for Wayne County General Hospital or Eloise Hospital, which are not within the City limits of Wayne, are available at the Wayne County Clerk's Office in the City-County Building in Detroit (313) 224-5536. If the child was born before 1978 and the parents were not married at the time, it must be obtained from the state. After the fall of 1978, the City of Westland began filing records of births that occurred at Wayne County General Hospital. Westland City Hall is located at 36601 Ford Road, Westland, 48135.
